The only thing that feels real these days is love. I believe what it says in the song from the Beatles: “All You Need Is Love.” For some of you the word may seem silly or vague, probably because love, at its core, is so simple. That’s the truth.Of course, it’s also true that humans are the only species that can turn love into a complicated mess.
You may not recognize when you have it, but you certainly know when it’s gone. Real love can be selfless and deep, seemingly beyond words. Poets and song writers have been reminding us of that for thousands of years. Love has the power to triumph over fear, sadness, anger, even death, and it lifts the spirit like nothing else can. Unconditional love is rare. It represents complete acceptance, without reservation, something most of us can only aspire to. Everything else is an illusion, a play, a game.
One constant you can count on is that the world around you is always changing and never more than now, or so it seems. Some of you feel scattered or like a rug has been pulled out from underneath you. I can see the effects in the lives of my clients and even in myself. My psychic sense tells me that we ain’t seen nothin’ yet. “Acceleration” is what I am feeling now. Everything is speeding up, accelerating, right down to the molecular level. So from the inside out, or from the bottom up, it’s all about that. Events are unfolding faster, you are feeling and sensing everything at a faster rate.
Disoriented? Sound familiar? You may have an idea that things are one way on Tuesday and by Wednesday its all been turned upside down. For better or worse, for good or bad, happy or sad…get used to it. This is, as they say, part of the new normal.
If I am touching on something you have been experiencing, you’re probably well acquainted with a feeling of being out of sync. Often you can’t quite put your finger on what’s wrong, but you know you are “off.” It isn’t your imagination. A key to smoother sailing can come from a conscious choice to do things out of love, with love…and of receiving love with an open heart. I’m not suggesting that you try to turn yourself into Mother Teresa. No, this is somewhat more subtle, although it has the potential to be just as powerful
You may know that green is recognized by energy workers as the color associated with the heart center, the 4th chakra around the chest area. I find that green is a healing color and can have a stabilizing influence. It’s a color of renewal, of harmony. Green can balance the vibrations of the nervous system.
I’m going to ask you to do something for yourself. Relax by closing your eyes and doing some deep breathing. Hold the breath for a couple of seconds and then let it out slowly. Do this four our five times. Let the muscles in the stomach and navel area relax, and keep breathing, through the nose and down into your feet. Let your shoulders feel like candle wax that is softening and melting, just let go with each out breath.
With your eyes closed, imagine that you are sitting in a lush garden. Maybe you are resting on a cool stone bench or on some soft grass. All around you are plants and shrubs and trees, vibrating with life. There are rich shades of green everywhere you look.
With your feet on the ground, breath in the power of the earth, the healing qualities of the various shades of green. Visualize a misty green swirl moving into your feet. If you sense other colors, breath them in at the same time. Move each breath upward, from the soles of your feet straight up the body to the heart center. Fill that space as you would a bowl. As the bowl overflows, let the energy spill out and move into every area of your body, from the top of your head to your toes.
Now imagine there are other people sitting with you in the garden, maybe friends or family or coworkers. Anyone who may need healing and especially anyone you feel tension with. They, too, can experience the strong green energy of the garden and all the healing power that is present. Visualize them going through the same process you are. Let their wounds (and yours) heal.
Sit in this space for as long as you like. When you’re ready, count yourself down from 10 to 1, curl your toes and open your eyes. The garden is there for you whenever you wish to return.
Keep visualizing this experience and eventually you will sense the expansion of new energy opening you to something new and defintely more stabilized. I feel a giant shift coming that can accelerate us even more, individually and collectively. Think of it as a booster rocket that is ready to give thrust to the acceleration we’re already expriencing. This can be a frightening time and I understand that a little exercise of a garden and green energy may not seem like much. I can promise you that it’s more than you think.
Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best. “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
