Once upon a time, long, long ago, when egg cream was the beverage of the day, a dollar equaled one hundred pennies and the term "your mama" was actually an expression of endearment to the woman who gave you life, there was a small but enchanting land located on the planet earth called Brooklyn, New York. In this loving community, people built a life for themselves. The men worked near home, the women bore children, and the family ate dinner together at the same time, at one table, where they shared their fears and joys, their sadness and their laughter.
I grew up in Brooklyn and while I probably seemed reasonably average on the
outside, deep inside I knew that nothing could be farther from the truth. Neighborhood kids played games of make-believe in which they were a prince or princess but that was never grand enough for me. I had to be Queen Isabella of Spain, reigning over my vast kingdom and maybe sending Christopher Columbus off to discover the new world.
While my girlfriends dreamed of the man they would marry, I was becoming familiar with amazing visions of the spirit world. I sang doo wop on the street corners, wore pearls and cashmere, and necked with Steven Dorfman in the back of my '57 Chevy. At the same time, I heard the humming of angels in my ears, had conversations in my head with my "unseen friends" and more than a glimpse of space ships in the skies from my bedroom window at night. The contrast between the inner and outer, at times, could be intense.
Steve Dorfman's lips are long gone and, sadly, so is the '57 Chevy I loved so much, although eventually I traded it in for a Red Caddy convertible. The Angels stayed around and so did conversations with my unseen friends. Life moved on and today I am a professional clairvoyant and author who makes a living dishing out "insights" as food for the soul.I help people make choices for themselves to either sink or swim, to give in, give up, go forward, get out or get on with it. I suppose I still seem pretty normal from the outside. Well....at least until until you get to know me!!
And yet, I feel very much in touch with that younger mini-me, the one who sang doo wop in Brooklyn. Reading that last statement, I can feel the vital energy of that timeless soul. I can sense the ever curious mind. I can hear the sound of laughter around our dinner table. It's all there and very much alive. Life may have moved on but I am still tapping my foot and snapping my fingers to the beat of the music.
When someone says that you act or look so much younger than your age, it means that they have a preconceived notion of what a person of a certain age should look act and be. That means, on a larger scale, that the collective consciousness of the planet expects a specific condition in terms of health, for example, relative to an age group. You know as well as I do that age has nothing to do with your energy level but this kind of belief system "pigeonholes" a person into a statistic.
It keeps you inside a box and, unfortunately, there will always be plenty of studies and statistics to back up the idea. I know too many "young" people who are sickly, lethargic and bored as well as boring. I know even more "old" people who are vibrant and full of energy, and I suspect that there's a toe tapping bit of doo wop alive and well inside of each one of them!
Abraham (the group teacher, channeled by Esther Hicks) speaks on the subject, saying we are source energy (source meaning God) and that we do not age, we're not supposed to age. It is the belief system that causes the deterioration.
My friend tells me that she refuses to buy into statistics or the belief system of aging. She has taught her children well in that regard and each year when they celebrate her birthday, they take a year off her age. I think she is down to about 32 years now. What a fabulous idea. My friend also says. "I want to continue being happy and healthy until death, whenever that may be." She echoes Abraham's words,
"I want to be happy, happy.....dead!!"
And mine....ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!

ARE WE WALKING IN A DREAM?
I sense it and I'm sure you do too. It's as though everyone is operating on autopilot, moving from place to place and task to task, without being fully present. There is a dream-like quality to everything. Experiencing life and seeing things through that slightly unfocused lens can make you feel a bit lost. It really does feel disconnected and very much like a dream.
Believe it or not, even in this fog, you have continued to clear out old stuff. As more and more falls away and old habits and patterns go with it, you may be left feeling empty. I've said it before and expect I will again, it can be difficult to get your bearings or to stay grounded under these circumstances. There is a lot to handle and sometimes emotions run rampant with fears about what's next.
You are living in an exciting time of energetic and spiritual change and shifts, although what many feel is that life is unpredictable and chaotic and, in general, just falling apart. You can only move forward with trust, knowing that you are exactly where you need to be and doing exactly what you need to do. Sorry if that seems like bumper sticker philosophy. It doesn't matter because I know I am right!
While making predictions can be tricky business these days, I feel confident in saying that many of you will begin to feel more vibrant as you move into 2010. Certainly, with a better understanding of what's important and what's real for you. I think you will be using your mind more to manifest new things into the emptiness you are feeling now.
You have been living in a dream for a long time, some say as long as 26,000 years. That's a lot of "stuff" to unload, and the clean-out doesn't happen overnight. But I am certain that in trusting yourself, you will continue to find out how powerful you really are. You have incredible intuitive potential, an almost magical innate ability to manifest and an expanding vibration of magnetism that can bring you to the right people and situations for your well being and continued growth.
When you allow yourself to live in a state of fear about what's to come, you keep yourself in a kind of dream state of illusion. When you allow yourself to take a leap into the unknown, trusting that you will land in the right place, an entirely different scenario has the potential to greet you. Make the choice and commit to it.
Thanks B.B.

THE RULES OF BEING HUMAN
OK people in blog land, I love that so many of you have read my blog and let me know how much you enjoy it. But, I'm surprised by how few of you have asked questions regarding the state of affairs on this planet. I know it hasn't escaped your notice that we are all, collectively, affected by the chaos and changes around us.
I am not referring to your personal problems because I deal with those in my private sessions with you. What about your thoughts, your feelings about what's going on energetically, right here, right now, where you live on earth? What about the bigger picture of where the family of man (and woman) is headed? I suppose you have figured out that I am rarely interested in writing about political issues. My focus here has always been to teach and to share what I know from experience. I would love to hear from you about what's on your mind and what concerns you. Throw out a question with a universal or global energy slant and I will do my best to answer it.
THE TEN RULES OF BEING HUMAN ARE:
1. You will receive a body. You may love it or hate it, but it will be yours for the duration of your life on earth.
2. You will be presented with lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called "life". You may like the lessons or hate them, but you have designed them as part of your curriculum.
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of experimentation, a series or trials, errors, and occasional victories. The failed experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that work.
4. A lesson is repeated until learned. Lessons will be repeated in various forms until you have learned them. When you have, you go onto the next lesson.
5. Learning does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
6. 'There' is a no better than 'here'. When your'e 'there' has become a 'here' you will simply obtain a 'there' that will look better to you than your present 'here'.
7. Others are only mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you.
9. All your answers lie inside of you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all this at birth. You can remember it if you want by unraveling the double helix of inner knowing.
